Wotofo builds for the rebuildable end of vaping. Where most coil brands sell sealed replacement heads, Wotofo is known for mesh strips, prebuilt wire and rebuildable coil systems that let you replace the cotton instead of the whole coil. The nexMESH platform
nexMESH is Wotofo's mesh coil line. A mesh coil uses a perforated sheet in place of a wound wire, which puts far more heated surface area against the cotton. It reaches temperature quickly and heats evenly across its whole face, which is where the flavour reputation of mesh comes from. The NexMesh Pro coils are the prebuilt version, dropping straight into the matching atomiser.
SMRT PnP rebuildable coils
The SMRT system takes the PnP coil format used across Voopoo pod kits and makes it rebuildable. Instead of discarding a coil head once the cotton is spent, you open it, rewick it and carry on with the same mesh. At £1.49 the running cost against sealed coils speaks for itself.
It does ask something in return. You need cotton, tweezers and the patience to wick it properly the first few times. Too much cotton chokes the flow and produces dry hits. Too little floods the deck.
Building wire and what it is for
Wotofo Competition Wire is building stock rather than a finished coil. It is intended for rebuildable atomisers where you wind your own coils to a chosen resistance. It belongs with an RDA or an RTA rather than with a pod kit and it is not a drop in replacement for anything.
Building your own gives control over resistance, ramp up time and the shape of the draw that no prebuilt coil can match. It also means owning an ohm reader and understanding what your battery can safely deliver before a build ever fires.
Resistance, wattage and wicking
Wotofo prints a resistance and a recommended wattage on every pack. Mesh coils in the 0.15 ohm to 0.2 ohm bracket are direct to lung coils. They want a high VG shortfill at 0mg to 6mg and a mod with real headroom behind them. Nothing here is designed for a 20mg nic salt in a tight mouth to lung pod.
Wicking is where most rebuilds go wrong rather than the coil itself. The cotton should pass through without dragging and the tails should sit in the wells without being packed down hard. If you have to force it through, thin it out.
Priming and coil life
The discipline is the same as any other coil. Saturate the cotton through the ports, fill the atomiser, leave it standing for five minutes, then start below the recommended wattage and work upwards. A rewickable head such as the SMRT changes the arithmetic on lifespan because the mesh outlasts the cotton by a wide margin. A prebuilt coil such as the NexMesh Pro follows the usual one to two week pattern.

What is a mesh coil?
A mesh coil uses a perforated metal sheet instead of a wound wire. That gives a much larger heated surface area in contact with the cotton, so the coil comes up to temperature quickly and heats evenly rather than in a spiral. The result is fuller flavour and a smoother ramp up, which is why mesh took over from round wire.
What does the SMRT PnP rebuildable coil do?
It turns a disposable coil head into a reusable one. The SMRT head uses the PnP format found on Voopoo pod kits. Instead of throwing it away when the cotton burns out you open it up, rewick it with fresh cotton and keep using the same mesh. It costs less to run over time.
Do Wotofo SMRT coils fit Voopoo devices?
The SMRT rebuildable coils are built to the PnP coil format, which is the platform Voopoo uses across a number of its pod kits and tanks. Check the coil currently fitted to your device and confirm it is a PnP fitment before ordering. If the marking says TPP, ITO or Uforce, this is not the right part.
What is competition wire used for?
It is raw building wire for rebuildable atomisers. You wind it into coils yourself and set the resistance you want rather than dropping in a finished head. It suits an RDA or an RTA and has no use in a pod kit. You will also need cotton, ceramic tweezers and a reliable way of measuring resistance.
What e-liquid suits Wotofo mesh coils?
Mesh coils in the 0.15 ohm to 0.2 ohm range are direct to lung coils, so they need a high VG shortfill at a low nicotine strength, typically 0mg to 6mg. A thin 50/50 nic salt will leak straight through them and 20mg would be unpleasant at that vapour output.
How long does a Wotofo coil last?
A prebuilt coil such as the NexMesh Pro follows the usual pattern of one to two weeks, shortened considerably by sweet or dark e-liquids. A rebuildable head such as the SMRT lasts far longer because you are only replacing the cotton. Rewick it when the flavour starts to fade.
