Instead of screwing in a sealed replacement you fit your own wire and cotton to a build deck, set the resistance you want and rewick it when the flavour drops off. RTA, RDTA and RDA explained
An RTA is a rebuildable tank atomiser. The build deck sits inside a chamber with a glass or steel reservoir around it. The cotton tails drop through channels into the liquid. You fill it once and vape it like a normal tank. Every in stock atomiser in this collection is an RTA.
An RDTA is a rebuildable dripping tank atomiser. The deck sits above the liquid with the cotton tails hanging into a reservoir below. It is a halfway house between dripping and a tank. An RDA has no reservoir at all, so you drip straight onto the cotton for the best flavour and no capacity.
Deck types and coil count
Single coil decks are simpler to build, use less power and are the sensible starting point. The Wotofo COG MTL is aimed at tight mouth to lung builds. Dual coil decks such as the Vaperz Cloud Trilogy and VCMT2 double the surface area for more vapour, at the cost of aligning two coils evenly and a far higher wattage demand.
Post design matters as much as coil count. Postless decks drop the leg into a hole and clamp it from the side, which is quick and tidy. Velocity style posts screw down from above and are more forgiving if your leg lengths are uneven. Clamp decks like the Profile M are built for mesh strips rather than round wire.
Diameter, 510 fitment and capacity
Every atomiser here uses a 510 threaded connection, so it will screw onto any regulated mod with a 510 pin. Diameter decides whether it looks right. A 24mm atomiser sits flush on most single battery mods. A 30mm one like the Trilogy needs a wide top plate or it will overhang.
UK regulations cap any tank sold containing nicotine e-liquid at 2ml, so rebuildables ship on a straight glass at or near that capacity with larger bubble glass sold separately as a spare. That is why an RTA advertised abroad at 5ml arrives here on a smaller glass.
Airflow, wicking and building
Airflow position separates a flavour build from a cloud build. Bottom airflow firing into the underside of the coil gives dense vapour and a warmer draw. Side airflow across the coil is cooler and usually sharper on flavour. MTL RTAs use small replaceable air pins so you can close the draw right down.
Wick length is the thing most people get wrong. The tails should sit in the channels without being stuffed in hard. Too much cotton starves the coil and gives a dry hit. Too little floods the deck and leaks out of the airflow.

What is the difference between an RTA and an RDTA?
An RTA holds its build deck inside a chamber with the liquid reservoir surrounding it, so the cotton tails feed downwards into the tank. An RDTA sits the deck above the liquid with the tails hanging into a reservoir below. The RDTA gives flavour closer to dripping while still holding a reserve of liquid. Every atomiser currently in stock in this collection is an RTA.
Will these tanks fit my mod?
All of them use a standard 510 threaded connection, so they will screw onto any regulated mod with a 510 socket. The question is diameter rather than thread. A 24mm atomiser sits flush on most single battery mods, while a 30mm model such as the Vaperz Cloud Trilogy will overhang unless your mod has a wide top plate.
Why is the glass only 2ml?
UK regulations limit any tank sold with nicotine e-liquid to 2ml, so tanks supplied here normally ship on a straight glass at or near that capacity. Larger bubble glass sections are commonly available as separate spare parts. It is the reason an RTA advertised overseas at 4ml or 5ml arrives in the UK on a smaller glass.
Should I start with a single coil or a dual coil deck?
Start single. One coil is far easier to place centrally over the airflow, it needs less power from the battery and there is only one build to troubleshoot when something goes wrong. Dual coil decks produce more vapour and suit high wattage direct to lung setups. They do demand even coil placement and a mod that can supply the current.
How often do I need to rewick?
Cotton usually needs replacing every few days to a week depending on how sweet your e-liquid is. The signs are a dulled or slightly burnt taste and reduced vapour. The coil itself lasts much longer. Pulse it, brush off the residue and rinse it, then fit fresh cotton and the build is effectively new again.
Do I need to know Ohm's law to use an RTA?
You need to understand it before building, yes. Resistance decides how much current your build draws from the battery, so it dictates whether a build is safe on the cells you are using. Always check the resistance reading on a regulated mod before firing and never fit a build to a mechanical device unless you are confident about the amp draw.
