Bristle pipe cleaners reach into the downstem and the joint, which is where solution on its own will not shift the worst of it. Work them through dry first to break the deposit up, then follow with cleaner and a rinse. A blocked downstem is the most common reason a pipe suddenly pulls badly. How often should I clean my waterpipe?
