Aspire Coils

Buying a coil is a compatibility question before it is anything else. This collection holds 14 genuine Aspire coil packs covering the Nautilus, Nautilus X, Cleito, Cleito Exo, Odan, Athos, PockeX, BP and AF families plus the BVC clearomizer coils, from £4.99 to £15.99.

Aspire coil families are named after the tank or pod they were designed for, which makes matching easier than it is with some manufacturers. The catch is that similar names do not mean interchangeable parts. Nautilus and Nautilus X coils are different fittings, so read the pack name against your device before ordering.

Finding the right Aspire coil

Nautilus and BVC

Aspire Nautilus coils are the mouth to lung workhorse of the range, built for the Nautilus tank line and sold in several resistances. The separate BVC coils, short for bottom vertical coil, serve the older Aspire clearomizer tanks. Nautilus X coils are their own fitting and are listed separately for that reason.

Cleito and Cleito Exo

The Cleito series broke from the standard 510 coil thread by making the coil the base of the chimney, widening the vapour path. Cleito and Cleito Pro coils share a listing. Cleito Exo coils are a different part. Check the engraving on your tank base if you are unsure.

Sub ohm tanks: Odan and Athos

Odan coils are mesh, built for direct to lung vaping in the Odan tank line. Athos coils cover the older Athos sub ohm tank. Both want a high VG shortfill.

Pod and all in one coils: PockeX, BP and AF

PockeX coils fit the PockeX all in one pen. BP coils cover the Aspire BP pod range and AF mesh coils serve the AF family. Because pod devices tend to be used all day, these are the parts most people reorder in multipacks.

Resistance, wattage and draw style

Resistance is measured in ohms and it decides everything else. A coil above 1.0 ohm is a mouth to lung coil. It runs at low wattage, gives a tight cigarette style draw and pairs with 50/50 e-liquid at up to 20mg per ml. A coil below 1.0 ohm runs hotter, opens the draw to direct to lung and needs a high VG shortfill at 3mg per ml or lower.

Every Aspire coil is printed with its resistance and recommended wattage range. Stay inside it. Running above burns the cotton before the wick resaturates. Running well below produces weak vapour that tastes of nothing.

Mesh against round wire

Round wire coils use a wound strand of wire through a cotton wick. Mesh coils use a perforated strip, which spreads heat over a wider surface. Mesh ramps up faster and lasts longer at the same wattage. Round wire still suits a low wattage mouth to lung tank.

Priming and getting the most from a coil

A new coil is dry cotton. Put drops of e-liquid onto each wicking port and one down the centre, fit the coil, fill the tank then leave it standing for five minutes. Start at the low end of the wattage range. Skipping the wait is the most common reason a coil tastes burnt on day one.

Expect one to two weeks from a coil in normal use. Dark, sweet dessert and candy liquids shorten that because sucralose caramelises onto the wire. Menthol and light fruit blends are far kinder. Chain vaping and running the tank low also end a coil early.

Buying genuine coils in the UK

Counterfeit coils perform badly, so a genuine Aspire pack is worth the small premium. Vaping products are sold to adults aged 18 and over only. UK delivery is free on orders over £20. If you are unsure which family your tank takes, call 07827 210361 between 8.30am and 4.00pm with the model name to hand.

Aspire coil questions answered

How do I know which Aspire coil fits my tank?

Aspire names each coil family after the device it was designed for, so a Nautilus tank takes Nautilus coils and a PockeX takes PockeX coils. Watch for shared names across different fittings, such as Nautilus and Nautilus X, which are not interchangeable. Check the model engraved on your tank base, then match it to the pack name.

How often should Aspire coils be replaced?

One to two weeks is typical. The signs are easy to recognise. Flavour turns dull or burnt, vapour output drops and the draw feels harsher. Sweet dessert and candy e-liquids cut that lifespan roughly in half because the sucralose in them bakes onto the coil.

What is the difference between mesh and standard Aspire coils?

A mesh coil uses a perforated metal strip rather than a wound wire, which spreads heat across a wider area of the wick. It ramps up faster, gives more consistent flavour and lasts a little longer at the same wattage. Round wire coils remain a good match for low wattage mouth to lung tanks.

Do I need to prime a new Aspire coil?

Yes. Drip e-liquid into each wicking port and one drop into the centre, fit it, fill the tank then wait five minutes. Start at the lower end of the wattage range printed on the coil. Firing a dry coil scorches the cotton immediately and soaking it afterwards will not bring the flavour back.

Can I use any e-liquid with Aspire coils?

The resistance decides that. Coils above 1.0 ohm are mouth to lung coils and want a 50/50 blend such as a 10ml nicotine salt. Coils below 1.0 ohm need a high VG shortfill, since thin liquid floods them and leaks. Using the wrong liquid is one of the quickest ways to ruin a coil.

Are these genuine Aspire coils?

Yes. Every pack in this collection is a genuine Aspire part. Counterfeit coils run inconsistent resistances, wick poorly and fail early. UK delivery is free on orders over £20 and the team is on 07827 210361 between 8.30am and 4.00pm.
