SX Mini Pods
SX Mini is a hardware brand with a long standing reputation among vapers who care about chipsets and build quality. This collection covers its pod spares. It currently holds one listing, the SX Mini Puremax PX Replacement Pods at £3.99, stocked in 0.6 ohm, 0.8 ohm and 1.2 ohm along with a mix pack option.
These are refillable pods rather than pre-filled ones. The coil is integrated into the pod, so replacing the pod replaces the coil at the same time. You fill it with whatever e-liquid suits the resistance you have chosen, which is what keeps the running cost down against buying sealed pods.
Choosing a resistance
1.2 ohm for mouth to lung
The 1.2 ohm pod is the tight, restricted option. It runs at low power, sips liquid slowly and gives a cooler and more concentrated flavour. This is the pod for anyone who wants a draw close to a cigarette or who is filling with a 10ml nicotine salt at 10mg to 20mg per ml.
0.8 ohm as the middle ground
The 0.8 ohm pod opens the draw a little and warms the vapour without going fully sub ohm. It handles both a 50/50 nic salt at lower strength and a thinner shortfill, which makes it the most flexible of the three.
0.6 ohm for a looser draw
The 0.6 ohm pod is the sub ohm option. It produces the most vapour and the warmest draw, suits a restricted direct to lung inhale and wants a higher VG liquid at 3mg to 6mg. It will get through e-liquid noticeably faster than the 1.2 ohm pod.
The mix pack is worth considering if you are new to the device, because trying the resistances side by side tells you more than any description can.
Filling and priming a pod
Fill through the port on the pod, replace the bung firmly and then stand the pod upright for five minutes before the first draw. New pods need that time for the cotton to soak through. Prime a pod properly once and it will reward you for a fortnight. Fire it dry and the cotton scorches in a second and cannot be recovered.
Do not fill right to the very top. Leaving a small air gap helps the pod hold a vacuum, which is a large part of how a leak resistant design actually resists leaks.
How long a pod lasts
Because the coil is built into the pod, pod life and coil life are the same thing. One to two weeks is typical. Sweet dessert and candy e-liquids shorten it considerably because sucralose bakes onto the coil, while fruit and menthol blends are far easier on it. Dulled flavour, weaker vapour and a harsher inhale all point to a pod that is due for replacement.
E-liquid and UK limits
Match the liquid to the resistance rather than the other way round. Pods above 1.0 ohm want a 50/50 PG to VG blend, which in the UK means a 10ml bottle at up to 20mg per ml. Sub ohm pods want a thicker high VG shortfill at a low strength. Nicotine containing e-liquid is capped at 20mg per ml, nicotine bottles at 10ml and nicotine filled tanks or pods at 2ml. All vaping products are sold to over 18s only.

SX Mini pod questions answered
Which SX Mini pods are stocked?
The collection currently holds the SX Mini Puremax PX Replacement Pods at £3.99. They are stocked in 0.6 ohm, 0.8 ohm and 1.2 ohm, plus a mix pack that lets you sample the resistances together. Colour options are listed on the product page alongside the resistance.
Are SX Mini Puremax PX pods refillable?
Yes. These pods are filled by you rather than arriving pre-filled. The coil is built into the pod, so a new pod is also a new coil. Refilling is what keeps the running cost low, because a 10ml bottle of e-liquid covers many tank fills for the price of a couple of sealed pre-filled pods.
Which resistance should I choose?
Choose 1.2 ohm for a tight mouth to lung draw with a nicotine salt at up to 20mg. Choose 0.8 ohm for a slightly warmer and more open draw that handles most liquids. Choose 0.6 ohm for a restricted direct to lung style with a high VG shortfill at 3mg or 6mg. The mix pack covers all three if you cannot decide.
How do I stop a new pod tasting burnt?
Fill it, close the bung and let it stand upright for five minutes before the first draw so the cotton saturates fully. Start with short gentle puffs rather than long hard ones. Never vape a pod that is nearly empty, because a starved wick scorches immediately and the damage cannot be undone.
How often do the pods need replacing?
One to two weeks covers most vapers, since the coil and pod are a single part. Sweet dessert and candy e-liquids cut that down sharply because sucralose caramelises onto the coil. Fruit and menthol flavours are much kinder. Replace the pod when flavour flattens or the draw turns harsh.
Do these pods fit other SX Mini devices?
Puremax PX pods are made for the SX Mini device they are named after and pod fitment is rarely interchangeable, even within one brand. Check which pod your device is listed as taking before ordering. The team can confirm compatibility on 07827 210361 between 8.30am and 4.00pm.
