King size and king size slim are the two paper formats that dominate rolling in the UK. This collection gathers 35 of them, covering unbleached, organic hemp, ultra thin, rice and coloured papers from Raw, Elements, Blazy Susan, Juicy Jay’s, G.Rollz and Loud LDN. The difference between the two sizes is width rather than length. Both run to around 108mm or 110mm. A king size paper is roughly 55mm to 60mm wide. A king size slim is about 44mm. Those 15 millimetres change how much you can roll and how the finished roll draws.
Paper sizes explained
King size slim
Approximately 110mm by 44mm. This is the default size across the UK and most of Europe. The narrow width means the paper wraps once with very little overlap, so less paper burns and more of what is inside it does. Almost every brand treats king size slim as its flagship format, so the widest choice of materials sits here.
King size
Approximately 110mm by 55mm to 60mm. The extra width gives a wider wrap and a fatter roll and it is considerably more forgiving if your technique is still developing.
Connoisseur packs
A connoisseur pack is a booklet of papers plus a booklet of tips inside the same card wallet. Buying the two together works out cheaper than buying them separately and it removes the familiar problem of running out of tips halfway through a pack of papers. Raw, Elements and G.Rollz all produce this format in king size.
Materials and how they burn
Unbleached and unrefined. Natural brown papers made without chlorine bleaching. They burn a little more slowly and carry a faint papery character that plenty of smokers actively prefer.
Organic hemp. Made from hemp fibre rather than wood pulp. Even burn, light ash and a thin feel in the hand.
Rice. The thinnest of the common materials, contributing almost no taste of its own and burning slowly. Rice papers are the least forgiving to handle because they have very little grip.
Ultra thin. Low gsm papers built to disappear behind whatever is inside them. Raw Ethereal is the example here.
Coloured and flavoured. The Blazy Susan pink and purple papers and the Juicy Jay’s flavoured hemp range sit in this group. The colour is worked into the paper rather than printed on the surface.
Gum, weight and burn rate
Almost all quality papers use natural gum arabic or acacia gum along the sealing strip. It is vegan friendly and it seals with a light lick rather than needing to be soaked. Paper weight is measured in gsm and the lower the number the thinner the sheet.
Tips, filters and trays
A tip does three jobs. It holds the mouth end open so the draw stays consistent, it stops loose material reaching your mouth and it gives the roll enough structure to keep its shape. Pre rolled tips save time. Flat card tips let you set your own diameter. Rolling trays are the other accessory worth owning. They keep everything in one place and catch what you spill.
Choosing between the brands
Raw is the reference point for unbleached papers and its Classic, Organic, Black and Ethereal lines run from standard weight down to genuinely thin. Elements specialises in rice paper that burns slowly with almost no ash. Blazy Susan is known for dyed pink and purple papers and for deluxe rolling kits. Juicy Jay’s covers the flavoured hemp end and Loud LDN produces natural unrefined and rice papers at entry level prices.
Storage and shelf life
Papers do not expire in any meaningful sense but they do absorb moisture and odour. Keep booklets in their wallet and out of a damp pocket, because a paper that has taken on moisture will not seal cleanly and tends to tear along the gum line.

Why does my roll burn down one side?
This is almost always uneven packing rather than a fault with the paper. Air finds a channel down the looser side and pulls the burn with it. Pack evenly along the whole length, keep a consistent diameter and seal with an even lick across the full gum strip. Papers that have been carried loose in a pocket also absorb moisture, seal badly and run.
