SMOK Coils
SMOK coils are the replaceable atomiser heads that keep a SMOK tank or pod kit running. This collection holds 25 genuine SMOK coil packs spanning the Nord, Nord Pro, LP1, LP2, RPM160, M Series, TFV8, TFV12 Prince, TFV16 and Vape Pen families, with prices starting at £4.99. A coil is a consumable rather than a one off purchase, so ordering the correct head for your device matters more than almost anything else you buy for it.
SMOK has been one of the largest hardware manufacturers on the UK market for years, which is why its coil catalogue is so wide. The catch is that the families are not interchangeable. A Nord coil will not seat in an RPM160. An LP1 will not fit an LP2 either, despite how similar the names look. The sections below set out which head belongs to which device.
SMOK coil families and what fits what
Nord and Nord Pro
The Nord family is SMOK's longest running pod coil line. Nord heads use a push fit stem that seats into the base of the pod rather than a screw thread. Nord PRO mesh coils are a later revision built for the Nord Pro pods specifically. Check which pod your kit shipped with before ordering, because the two are not cross compatible.
RPM and RPM160
RPM coils were designed for the RPM pod series. The RPM160 mesh head listed here is rated at 0.15 ohm, which makes it a genuinely sub ohm coil intended for direct to lung vaping at higher wattage. It is not a low power mouth to lung head and should not be treated as one.
LP1 and LP2
LP stands for the low profile coil format used across several of SMOK's newer pod kits. LP1 and LP2 look near identical at a glance yet they differ in height and in the pod they seat into. Ordering the wrong one of the pair is the single most common mistake in this category.
TFV tank coils
The TFV series covers SMOK's sub ohm tanks. TFV8, TFV8 Baby, TFV8 X-Baby, TFV12 Prince, TFV16 and TFV16 Lite each take their own dedicated head. Baby V2 and TFV Mini V2 coils share a fitment with one another. M Series heads suit the newer M tanks, while Vape Pen 22, Stick M17, Stick AIO, RGC and Helmet coils cover the simpler pen style devices.
Mesh against round wire
Older SMOK heads used a length of round kanthal wire wrapped around a cotton core. Mesh replaced that with a single perforated strip. The practical difference is surface area. Mesh heats evenly across a wider face, which gives fuller flavour, a faster ramp up and usually a longer working life at the same wattage.
Resistance, wattage and e-liquid
Every SMOK coil is stamped with a resistance in ohms and a recommended wattage range. Treat that range as a boundary rather than a target. Start at the bottom of it and climb in small steps until the flavour sits where you want it. Running a head above its ceiling scorches the cotton. Running it far below leaves the vapour thin and the flavour flat.
Priming and coil life
Priming is what separates a head that lasts a fortnight from one that tastes burnt on the first draw. Drip e-liquid straight into the exposed cotton ports until they darken, seat the coil, fill the tank or pod, then leave it standing upright for at least five minutes. Take two or three gentle primer puffs with the device switched off before you fire it.
Expect one to two weeks from a coil in normal use. Sweet dessert, candy and cola flavours are the worst offenders for cutting that short, because the sucralose in them caramelises onto the mesh and insulates it. Menthol and light fruit blends are far kinder. A drop in vapour, a dulled taste or a faint burnt edge all mean the head has done its work.
Buying genuine SMOK coils
Counterfeit coils are a real problem in this category. Fakes wick badly, drift away from their stated resistance and can leak into the device. Every pack in this collection is sourced through the legitimate supply chain. If you already own the device, the quickest way to confirm the head you need is to read the family name and resistance printed on the coil currently fitted.
Delivery and support
UK delivery is free on orders over £20 and coils are dispatched quickly on working days. If you are unsure which SMOK head fits your kit, call the team on 07827 210361 between 8.30am and 4.00pm with the device name to hand.
SMOK coil questions answered
How do I know which SMOK coil fits my device?
Read the coil currently in the device. SMOK prints the family name and the resistance on the side of every head, so a coil marked Nord 0.8 ohm tells you both what you need and what power to run. If the device is empty, the family is normally printed on the pod or moulded into the tank base. The kit box also lists the coils supplied with it.
Are SMOK Nord and RPM coils interchangeable?
No. They are separate families with different stems and seating depths. A Nord coil will not seal correctly in an RPM pod and forcing one in risks leaking or flooding. Nord and Nord PRO are also distinct from each other despite the shared name, so check which pod your kit came with before ordering.
What is the difference between LP1 and LP2 coils?
LP1 and LP2 are both low profile pod coils and they look very similar, yet they differ in height and in the pods they seat into. They are not interchangeable. Check your kit manual or the pod itself before ordering, because mixing the two up is the most common error people make with this family.
How much do SMOK coils cost?
Coils in this collection start at £4.99 and run to £5.99 a pack. TFV tank heads such as the TFV8 Baby, TFV12 Prince, TFV16 and the RPM160 mesh sit at £4.99. Pod coils including Nord, Nord PRO, LP1, LP2 and the M Series sit at £5.99.
How often should I change a SMOK coil?
One to two weeks is normal under regular use. Sweet, dark or heavily sweetened e-liquids shorten that considerably because sucralose caramelises onto the coil. The warning signs are consistent. Flavour turns dull or acrid, vapour production falls away and the draw begins to feel harsher than usual.
Why does my new SMOK coil taste burnt straight away?
Almost always because it was not primed. Drip e-liquid directly into the cotton ports until they are saturated, fit the head, fill the tank or pod and then leave it standing for five minutes before the first puff. Firing a dry coil scorches the cotton in seconds and no amount of soaking afterwards will recover it.
Do I need to be 18 to buy SMOK coils?
Yes. Vaping products are sold to adults aged 18 and over only in the UK. Every order placed with Vapestore Direct is age verified before dispatch and identification may be requested. Free UK delivery applies on orders over £20.
