Squonk mods are box mods built around a soft bottle that sits behind the battery door. Squeeze the bottle and e-liquid is pushed up through a hollow 510 pin straight into the atomiser sitting on top, which wets the cotton without you unscrewing anything or reaching for a dripper bottle. This is a two device collection of bottom fed mods from Wotofo, the Recurve BF Squonk Mod and the Dyadic 200w Squonk Mod.

Bottom feeding is a specialist corner of UK vaping rather than a starting point. It suits vapers who already build and wick their own coils. If you have never rebuilt an atomiser, a pod kit or a sub ohm tank kit will suit you far better. Everything here is rechargeable hardware sold to over 18s only.

      How bottom feeding works

The bottle is food grade silicone and clips onto a hollow positive pin in the 510 connector. Squeezing it forces liquid up that pin, through the juice flow holes in the base of a squonk ready deck and into the wicks. Let go and the bottle draws the surplus back down, so the deck ends up saturated rather than flooded. Two gentle squeezes before a draw is the normal rhythm. Never squeeze hard enough to pool liquid in the airflow slots.

      Regulated squonkers and mechanical squonkers

A regulated squonk mod runs a chipset, so you get a screen, a resistance reading, adjustable wattage and protections against a short or an over discharged cell. That is the safer and more flexible route. A mechanical squonker has no board at all and hands raw battery voltage to the coil. Output sags as the cell drains and nothing stops a dead short, so mech squonking belongs to experienced builders who can calculate a safe resistance and read a battery wrap.

      Choosing a squonk ready atomiser

Squonk mods need an RDA with a bottom fed pin, which means a 510 pin with a channel drilled through it and a deck designed to let liquid rise into the well. Many popular RDAs ship with both a standard pin and a BF pin in the spares bag, so check the box before buying anything extra. Wicking is the part people get wrong. Cotton tails should rest lightly in the juice wells rather than being packed into them, otherwise liquid cannot climb the wick.

      E-liquid and bottle care

Squonkers run rebuildable decks below 1.0 ohm, so high VG shortfill at a low nicotine strength is the sensible pairing. A 70/30 blend feeds well through a silicone bottle. Thin 50/50 liquid tends to weep back through the pin and pool under the deck. UK rules cap nicotine e-liquid at 20mg per ml and limit nicotine bottles to 10ml, which is why most squonkers buy a nicotine free shortfill and add a shot. Rinse the bottle in warm water when you change flavour and replace it once the silicone stiffens.

Batteries and buying in the UK

Squonk mods take removable 18650 or 21700 cells, so buy an external charger and never carry a loose cell with keys or coins. Vaping hardware is sold to adults aged 18 and over only. Nicotine containing e-liquid sold in the UK must be notified to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and meet the limits in the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations. Single use vapes were withdrawn from sale on 1 June 2025, so every device here is rechargeable and rebuildable. UK delivery is free over £20 and the team is on 07827 210361 between 8.30am and 4.00pm.

      Squonking questions answered

      What is a squonk mod?

A squonk mod is a box mod with a squeezable bottle inside the battery door and a hollow 510 pin above it. Squeezing the bottle sends e-liquid up the pin and into a bottom fed atomiser, so you get dripper flavour without carrying a separate bottle to top it up.

Do I need a special RDA for a squonk mod?

Yes. The atomiser has to be bottom fed, which means a 510 pin drilled through the middle and a deck that lets liquid rise into the juice wells. Plenty of RDAs include a BF pin in the spares bag alongside the standard one, so check what came with yours before buying another atomiser.

What e-liquid should I use in a squonk bottle?

High VG shortfill at a low nicotine strength is the usual choice because squonk decks run below 1.0 ohm. A 70/30 VG to PG blend feeds through the bottle cleanly. Thin 50/50 liquid is more likely to seep back through the pin and collect under the deck between sessions.

Are squonk mods suitable for beginners?

Not really. Squonking assumes you can build a coil, check its resistance and wick it properly. A refillable pod kit or a sub ohm tank kit is a much easier place to start. Squonk mods make sense once rebuilding is already part of your routine and you want dripper flavour in a pocketable device.

Why is my squonk mod leaking or spitting back?

Nine times out of ten it is over squonking or over wicking. Squeeze gently and stop as soon as the wicks are wet, because forcing extra liquid in floods the airflow. If the cotton is packed tightly into the juice wells, liquid cannot rise properly and the excess ends up in the deck instead of the wicks.

Is delivery free and can I speak to someone first?

UK delivery is free on orders over £20 and orders placed on working days are dispatched quickly. If you want to confirm whether your atomiser has a bottom fed pin or which cells a mod takes, call the team on 07827 210361 between 8.30am and 4.00pm.
