A cracked tank does not mean a dead tank. The glass section is a serviceable part on almost every vape tank made. Replacing it costs a fraction of buying a new atomiser. Compatibility is the only question that matters on this page, so start there. Replacement glass is not a universal part. Each piece is cut to the exact height and diameter of one tank family. A section from a different model in the same brand range will not seal. Identify your tank precisely before ordering, including the version number where the manufacturer used one.
Working out exactly which glass you need
The name printed on the tank is the starting point, not the finish. Smok, for example, has produced the TFV8 Baby, the TFV8 Big Baby, the TFV16 and the TFV16 Lite. None of those share a glass section. Innokin has run the Zenith, the Zenith 2, the Zenith Minimal and the Zlide alongside each other with different dimensions.
If the branding has worn off, three things narrow it down quickly. First, the coil you buy for it, because coil families map closely to tank families. Second, the diameter across the base, most commonly 22mm, 24mm or 25mm. Third, the stated capacity, which tells you whether the section is straight or bubble.
Straight glass and bubble glass
Straight glass is a plain cylinder that sits flush with the tank base and the top cap. It gives the tank its slimmest profile and the smallest capacity.
Bubble glass, sometimes called an extended or convex section, bulges outward in the middle. It holds more liquid without making the tank any taller, which is why it is the popular choice on sub ohm tanks that get through liquid quickly. Both types usually fit the same tank body, so choosing between them is a matter of preference rather than fitment. Capacity and the UK 2ml rule
Tanks sold in the UK with nicotine e-liquid are limited to 2ml under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations. That is why so many tanks ship with a 2ml straight glass fitted even where the body could take more. Several products here are 2ml sections sold as direct like for like replacements, including the Innokin Zlide 2ml glass and the Smok G16 2ml three pack.
Multipacks are worth noting. The Smok TFV8 Baby 2ml glass and the Smok G16 glass both come in packs of three. The Smok Micro TFV4 comes as a pack of two, which brings the cost per section down to well under a pound.
Glass, PCTG and full sleeves
Not everything here is glass. Innokin supplies a PCTG replacement tube for the Isub B, PCTG being a clear impact resistant plastic that survives a drop far better than borosilicate. It is the sensible option if you have broken the same tank twice. The trade off is that plastic is more prone to clouding with certain flavourings.
Some kits use a full sleeve rather than a bare glass tube. The Aspire Pockex replacement sleeve and glass and the Smok Stick N18 and Stick R22 sleeve sections are examples, where the outer body and the tank section come as one part.
Fitting a new section without breaking it
Empty and rinse the tank first. Unscrew the base, lift the old section clear and check that both O-rings are still seated in their grooves. Those O-rings do the sealing, not the glass. A perished or displaced O-ring is the most common cause of a leak after a glass change.
Slide the new section on squarely, then screw the base back on by hand until it stops. Do not force it. Overtightening is the single biggest cause of a cracked replacement, because the glass takes the load once the O-ring is fully compressed. Fill the tank, leave it standing for five minutes and check for seepage before pocketing it.
Why tank glass breaks and how to make it last
Most breakages come from three things: a drop onto a hard floor, overtightening on reassembly and thermal shock from filling a hot tank with cold liquid straight from a fridge. Keeping a spare section in the drawer is sensible on any tank you carry daily, especially at these prices. Borosilicate is tough for its weight but it is still glass.

How do I know which replacement glass fits my tank?
Match the exact tank name including any version number, because manufacturers reuse names across sizes. A Smok TFV16 and a TFV16 Lite do not share a section. If the branding has worn off, check which coil family you buy for it, measure the base diameter and note the stated capacity. Those three together identify almost any tank.
What is the difference between straight glass and bubble glass?
Straight glass is a plain cylinder that keeps the tank slim and holds less liquid. Bubble glass bulges outward in the middle so it holds more without making the tank taller. Both usually fit the same tank body, so it comes down to whether you want a slimmer profile or fewer refills.
Why does my tank leak after I changed the glass?
Almost always the O-rings. They do the sealing, not the glass itself. Check that both rings are still seated in their grooves and are not nicked or perished. The other common cause is overtightening the base, which distorts the seal rather than improving it. Hand tight until it stops is correct.
Can I fit a bigger glass to increase capacity?
If the tank body accepts a bubble section then yes, that is what bubble glass is for. Is plastic replacement tubing any good?
PCTG tubing, such as the Innokin Isub B replacement, is clear and considerably more impact resistant than borosilicate, so it is worth considering if you have already broken the same tank more than once. The trade off is that plastic can cloud or craze over time with some flavourings, particularly heavy citrus and cinnamon.
Do replacement sections come with O-rings?
Most are supplied as the glass section alone because the O-rings on your tank are usually still serviceable. Inspect them while the tank is apart. If either is flattened, split or has lost its spring, replace it, because a worn O-ring will leak regardless of how good the new glass is.
