The Voopoo coil platforms
Uforce X sub ohm tanks
The Uforce X Sub Ohm Tank at £9.99 and the Uforce X Nano Tank at £14.99 are direct to lung tanks with a standard 510 thread, so they sit on any regulated mod with a 510 connector. Sub ohm means a coil resistance below 1.0 ohm, which is where the open airflow and dense vapour come from. The Nano is the shorter version, aimed at smaller mods where a full height tank feels top heavy.
TPP pod tanks
The TPP Pod Tank 2ml and the TPP X Pod Tank both sit at £15.99 and run Voopoo's TPP coil family. These are pod tanks rather than threaded tanks, designed around Voopoo's own pod mod platform. TPP coils are mesh built and cover a broad wattage spread, which is why the range has stayed in production for so long.
Sub ohm against mouth to lung
The coil resistance decides how the tank behaves and which e-liquid belongs in it. Coils below 1.0 ohm are sub ohm coils. They want open airflow, a direct to lung draw and a high VG shortfill at 0mg to 6mg, because they vaporise liquid quickly. Coils above 1.0 ohm run a tighter draw that suits a 50/50 blend such as a 10ml nic salt. Pouring a thin 50/50 liquid into a sub ohm tank is the classic cause of leaking, since the wicking ports are cut for a thicker liquid.
Priming, filling and coil life
Prime every new coil before it goes near a battery. Drip liquid into the exposed cotton ports until they darken, fit the coil, fill the tank and let it stand for five minutes so the wick saturates. Start at the low end of the wattage range printed on the coil. Expect one to two weeks from a coil. Sweetened dessert and candy e-liquids shorten that considerably because the sucralose caramelises onto the mesh.
Fitment and the 2ml rule
Check the base diameter of a tank against the top of your mod before ordering so nothing overhangs. Check the drip tip fitting too if you prefer a particular mouthpiece. UK regulations cap any tank sold containing nicotine e-liquid at 2ml, which is why the TPP Pod Tank carries 2ml in its name. Empty tanks sold without liquid are not subject to that cap. Which coils fit Voopoo Uforce X and TPP tanks?
The two platforms are separate. Uforce X tanks run Voopoo's Uforce X coil family. TPP tanks run TPP coils. The coils are not interchangeable between the two, so check the tank you own before ordering replacements. Buying spares at the same time as the tank saves being caught out when a coil finally goes.
Will a Voopoo tank fit my mod?
The Uforce X Sub Ohm Tank and Uforce X Nano Tank use a standard 510 thread, so they fit any regulated mod with a 510 connector. Measure the top of your mod first, because a wide tank on a narrow mod overhangs the edge. Why is the tank only 2ml?
UK regulations limit any tank sold containing nicotine e-liquid to 2ml. That is why several tanks carry 2ml in the product name. It is a legal cap rather than a design decision, so it applies to every brand sold in the UK. Empty tanks supplied without liquid are not restricted in the same way.
What e-liquid should I use in a sub ohm tank?
A high VG shortfill, typically 70/30, at a low nicotine strength of 0mg to 6mg. Sub ohm coils vaporise liquid quickly, so a high nicotine level feels harsh and a thin 50/50 liquid tends to leak through the wicking ports. Save 10ml nic salts for tighter mouth to lung coils above 1.0 ohm.
How long does a Voopoo coil last?
One to two weeks is normal. Sweet dessert and candy flavours cut that down because sucralose caramelises onto the mesh and blocks it. The warning signs are a drop in flavour, weaker vapour and a slightly burnt edge to the draw. Priming properly and resting a new coil for five minutes before the first puff makes a real difference.
