VG ratio and which hardware suits it
Shortfills are blended high in vegetable glycerin, typically around 70/30 VG to PG. Liquid that thick needs a sub ohm coil to wick properly, so these bottles belong in a direct to lung tank or a sub ohm pod running below 1.0 ohm. Put a 70/30 shortfill through a 1.2 ohm mouth to lung coil and it will struggle to keep the wick fed, which is what produces a dry hit. Check the ratio printed on the bottle before you commit to a device.
Steeping dessert liquids
Sweet cream and bakery blends usually improve after a rest. Steeping means leaving the mixed bottle somewhere cool and dark for a few days so the flavour compounds settle together. Shake it once a day. A week is plenty for most desserts. Fruit blends need far less time and menthol needs none at all.
What sweet liquids do to coils
Dessert liquids are the hardest thing you can run through a coil. The sucralose that gives them their sweetness does not vaporise cleanly. It caramelises on the wire and darkens the cotton, which mutes the flavour long before the coil is genuinely finished. Expect roughly a week from a mesh coil on a heavy dessert rotation against two or three weeks on a light fruit.

Can I use a shortfill in a pod kit?
Only if the pod runs a sub ohm coil. High VG shortfills are too thick for the tight mouth to lung coils used in most refillable pod kits, so they wick slowly and can leave you with a dry hit. For a pod kit above 1.0 ohm, use a 50/50 nic salt instead.
