Replacement coils
Hellcoil replacement coils are pre built heads that fit straight into a compatible Hellvape atomiser. No wire to wrap, no cotton to cut and no ohm reader needed. The resistance is printed on the side of each coil along with a recommended wattage range. Stay inside it and the coil will run its full life.
Replacement pods
Grimm replacement pods are the consumable half of the Grimm pod kit. The pod holds the e-liquid and the coil together, so when flavour tails off you fit a fresh pod rather than servicing anything. At £2.49 they are the cheapest item listed here.
Rebuildable atomisers
A rebuildable dripping atomiser is normally shortened to RDA. It has a bare build deck where you clamp in your own coil and pack your own cotton, so liquid is dripped straight onto the wick. The Rebirth Dual Coil RDA takes two coils. A rebuildable tank atomiser, shortened to RTA, adds a reservoir underneath so you are not dripping every few puffs.
Choosing a resistance
Resistance decides everything downstream of it. Coils below 1.0 ohm are sub ohm coils. They run at higher wattage on open airflow and pair with high VG shortfills at low nicotine strengths. Coils above 1.0 ohm are mouth to lung coils, running at low wattage on a tight draw with a 50/50 liquid such as a 10ml nic salt. Building your own puts the resistance in your hands, where an ohm reader and battery safety knowledge stop being optional.
Priming and coil life
Prime every new coil before you fire it. Drip e-liquid into the wicking ports until the cotton looks saturated, fit the coil, fill the pod or tank then leave it standing for five minutes. Take two or three gentle draws without firing, then start low on wattage and work up.
A pre built coil normally lasts one to two weeks. Dark sweetened e-liquids shorten that considerably, because the sucralose in them caramelises onto the mesh and blocks the cotton. Menthol and light fruit blends are far kinder.
Building on a Hellvape deck
Rebuildables are the reason most people buy this brand. A dual coil deck lets you set coil spacing, wick length and airflow yourself, which is control no pre built coil can offer. It also asks more of you. Check every build on an ohm reader before it goes near a mod and never run a build below the safe continuous discharge rating of your battery.

How often should I change a Hellvape coil?

You will know it is time when flavour turns dull or burnt and vapour production falls away. Priming properly makes a real difference to how long a coil survives.
Do I need a special mod for a Hellvape RDA?
Any regulated 510 mod with enough wattage will run a standard build. What matters is that the mod can deliver the power your build needs and that it has short circuit and low resistance protection.
