Coil Art is a rebuildable specialist. The name is attached to atomisers built for vapers who wind their own coils and wick them by hand rather than dropping in a pre made replacement head. Rebuildables are the deep end of vaping hardware. They reward patience with better flavour and with running costs measured in pennies. They punish carelessness just as reliably, because you set the resistance and you choose the battery that fires it.
What an RTA actually is
RTA stands for rebuildable tank atomiser. It combines a build deck, where you fit your own coil and cotton, with a tank section that holds e-liquid and feeds the wick through juice channels. You get the convenience of a tank you fill once alongside the flavour and cost advantages of building it yourself. A spool of wire and a bag of cotton replace the recurring cost of replacement heads.
RTA, RDA and RDTA compared
An RDA is a rebuildable dripping atomiser. It has a deck and no tank, so liquid is dripped straight onto the wick every few draws. Flavour is exceptional and the workflow is demanding. An RDTA pairs a deck with a small reservoir that feeds the wick tails. An RTA is the most practical of the three for daily use, because it holds a usable amount of liquid while still letting you build what you want.
Deck types and single coil builds
Postless decks, clamp style decks and traditional post decks all hold the coil legs securely under the airflow. Single coil builds have become the default for flavour focused RTAs, because one well placed coil in the airflow path usually beats two that are only partly in it. A single coil also draws less power.
Fitment and diameter
The Mage V2 is a 24mm atomiser with a 510 connection, the standard threaded fitting used by regulated box mods and most tube mods. A 24mm base overhangs slightly on narrower mods, so check the top plate width of your device before ordering. The 510 pin should sit proud enough to make firm contact without being forced.
Building, wicking and the first fire
Fit the coil, tighten the screws evenly and check the resistance on an ohm reader or on your mod before firing. Pulse the coil gently and strum it to remove hot spots so it glows from the centre outwards. Thread the cotton through, trim the tails so they sit in the juice channels without stuffing them tight and saturate the wick before closing the tank. A dry first fire is what burns cotton.
Resistance, wattage and battery safety
Build resistance dictates the current your battery has to supply. A regulated mod refuses a build outside its safe range and tells you the resistance it reads. Mechanical mods offer no such protection and pass cell voltage straight to the coil, so they are strictly for people who understand Ohm's law and the discharge rating of their cells. Never carry loose batteries with keys or coins.
UK rules for tanks and e-liquid
Tanks sold containing nicotine e-liquid are limited to 2ml. Nicotine e-liquid is capped at 20mg per ml and bottles containing nicotine are limited to 10ml. Rebuildable atomisers are sold empty, so liquid is bought separately as a 10ml bottle or as a nicotine free shortfill. Everything here is sold to adults aged 18 and over.

What is the difference between an RTA and an RDA?

What size mod does a 24mm atomiser fit?

What resistance should I build for an RTA?
It depends on the draw you want and on what your mod supports. Direct to lung builds commonly sit below 0.5 ohm, while a restricted mouth to lung build sits above it. Always check the resistance on a regulated mod or an ohm reader before firing, then work the wattage up gradually.
